1860 Accommodation – An original timber slab hut, lovingly restored to offer couples luxury, tranquillity and total privacy. Escape, relax and immerse yourself in the warmth and character of this amazing building. With an open fire, double bath, leather lounge, king sized bed and full kitchen, 1860 overlooks Spring Creek and the surrounding parklands of Lake Sambell.
Built in the 1860's by a timber feller & carpenter, 1860 was deconstructed piece by piece and moved from Taggerty to Beechworth to save it from the ravages of time & weather. It was rebuilt using traditional methods to maintain the integrity and historic value of the building. Guests at 1860 will enjoy two restaurant meals (choose between Wardens, Gigis and Provenance) and one meal in the relaxed intimacy of their accommodation.

Villa di Oro – perfect for groups of 6-11 who are coming to the area with their own car – The Villa D'Oro is in the style of a traditional Tuscan farmhouse, its rustic charm is complemented by a keen eye for harmony of design and modern amenities. The villa’s thick strawbale walls provide attractive interiors and ensure perfect climate control both of which are further enhanced by an open fire in the enormous kitchen/dining/living area.
The Villa is situated in Stanley, only 10 minutes drive from historic Beechworth. It is set on 5 acres and is fully self contained. It features 6 bedrooms and is able to sleep a total of 11 people - 1 King size bedroom, 2 Queen size bedroom, 1 Double size room, 1 Twin room and 1 Single room. Wardens of Beechworth Wardens' Italian menu is created from the best of local produce and selected ingredients. A carefully chosen wine list will enable you to taste some of the great drops this region has to offer, as well as many great Australian and International wines. Awarded one hat by The Age Good Food Guide in 2008. Three course dinner including wine.
Gigi’s of Beechworth An award winning, modern Italian restaurant located in Beechworth's main street, Ford Street. The menu offers the freshest local and seasonal produce including their own house made sourdough, pasta and freshly roasted espresso coffee. Three course dinner including wine and coffee. Provenance Restaurant sits in the historic former Bank of Australasia building,
built way back in 1856 during the gold rush. Instilled with
new energy by the former owners of Range in Myrtleford, Michael Ryan
(Two Chef Hats) and Jeanette Henderson, the restaurant has been stylishly refurbished,
and the menu reflects a thoroughly modern Australian selection of
tastes with a contemporary regional edge. Private Ned Kelly or Gold Rush Walk: Early evening tour with your own personal and charismatic local guide who will entertain you with stories of the legend of Ned Kelly and life in Beechworth during the magnificent gold rush. Beechworth Ghost Tour: As the dusk settles overlooking the township of Beechworth you will be led through the distant and deserted buildings of what once was one of the three major asylums in Victoria. 'The Beechworth Lunatic Asylum' as it was originally named was built during the height of Beechworth's gold rush period in 1867 and operated until it's closure in 1995. You will go deep into the heart of the old hospital and experience the rooms and their mysteries. Hear the stories, tales and myths that have led to this amazing tour and discover what life was like living and working in the institution during the 1860's.
Cookery demonstration and in-house dinner: Alan Parker, chef at Gigi’s Restaurant, will come to Villa di Oro and give a private cookery demonstration followed by an in-house dinner. Available to Villa di Oro guests only. Minimum group size 6 people.
