Our one day and half day walks in the Alpine district are guaranteed to take you off the beaten track and provide an unforgettable and relaxing day out. They are the perfect solution for those who want a fun, healthy and stress-free experience. Moreover, just like our longer tours, these are not just walks. We will chat to you about historical events, flora and fauna, food and wine and much, much more. Our walks are available November to May.

The Buckland walk

Our walk starts in the historic Buckland valley. We pass vineyards and nut groves as we follow the Buckland and Ovens rivers. We stroll through Eucalypt parklands and pass ancient gold mining sites to reach our chosen wine estate - Ringer Reef Winery, offering some of the finest views in Victoria. Meet the winemakers, Bruce and Annette Holm and be inspired by their passion.

Relax over a gourmet lunch of local produce, overlooking the vines, and savour a glass or two of the local vintage. Take in the wonderful views to Mt Feathertop and Mt Buffalo.

Beechworth - Gapsted walk

Also available as a bicycle ride. ( Bicycles available for hire )

We start our day with a visit to the historic former gold-mining town of Beechworth. Our walk (11.5km) commences on a ridgeline above Beechworth and undulates through native forest with abundant birdlife. A delicious alfresco lunch will be provided en route where you will be able to sample the splendours of this gourmet region whilst enjoying panoramic views of distant peaks.

After lunch we continue our walk, soon descending to the old railway line from where we transport you to the award-winning Gapsted Winery. Taste some of their extensive range of Australian and Italian style wines and relax on the panoramic terrace.
